STATE REP RACE: Republican Candidate Erin Buckley Slams State Senate’s Opposition To Lowering Sales & Income Taxes To 5%, Tax Holiday

TEWKSBURY, MA — Below is a statement from State Rep. Candidate Erin Buckley (R-Tewksbury):

In a vote that cannot be surprising to anyone with even a passing awareness of State House politics, the Massachusetts State Senate voted 24-14 on Tuesday to defeat the intended August sales tax holiday.

Also on the agenda was a vote, done by voice, regarding the proposed reductions in both sales and income taxes to 5%.

“This is what you can expect from the Democrat-led Senate,” says Republican candidate for the 19th Middlesex Erin Buckley. “Business as usual on Beacon Hill is the limiting of business off Beacon Hill.”

“These votes have an especially negative impact on the towns of Tewksbury and Wilmington, as they sit so close to the sales tax-free New Hampshire border,” she added.

  1. Pina Prinzivalli has been working since October to lower the sales tax and give us a tax free weekend. You’re too late for the party Buck.

    1. Is someone actually defending Pina? Wow. She is the single worst candidate for this office I have seen in my 22 years of living in Tewksbury. She looks lost and just repeats phrases like a parrot! Tax-free! Pay raise! Someone give her a cracker!
