Registration begins 30 days prior to the event. Please register online using our Calendar of Events at or by calling (978) 694-2099 (for Adult) or (978) 694-2098 (for Children/Teen). Adult Events

Poetry Circle *RR
Saturday, May 19, 9:15 am-11:30 am

Love poetry? The poetry circle is a great opportunity to meet other poets and get constructive feedback in a supportive environment. When registering, please provide your email address so you can receive an agenda and any prep materials in advance. Led by local writing enthusiast, Barbara Alevras.

Creative Writing Skill Group *RR
May 22, 7 pm
Learn and apply creative writing tips, tools, and techniques shared by published authors and other writing experts. Open to all who want to improve their creative writing skills.

Featured Book: The Stars are Fire by Anita Shreve
The novel is set in Maine during the real-life disaster of 1947 when a severe drought caused a series of massive fires that burned out of control for 10 days. Grace Holland who is five months pregnant with two toddlers must figure out a way to save her family and then must face an uncertain future not knowing if her husband is dead or alive. Copies of the book are available at the library.

Flower Arranging Workshop *RR
Thursday, May 24, 7 pm
Learn how to care for and arrange supermarket flowers and how to utilize different types of containers for them. Patti Prior who is a professional Floral Designer, will also share some tips and tricks with fresh flowers. All the flowers will be raffled off to the attendees.

Going Native: Low Maintenance Trees and Shrubs*RR
Thursday, May 31, 7 pm
Native trees and shrubs evolved in New England without our help; they adapted to hot, dry summers and cold winters, are resistant to browsing deer and local insects, they attract birds and butterflies, and add color to your landscape. Cultivars of native plants have changed the face of natives–expanding the color palette and options for the gardener. Led by Betty Sanders who is a widely recognized speaker on gardening and environmental subjects, is a Lifetime Master Gardener and a nationally accredited floral design judge.

Kids & Teen Events

Paint Your Pet Event *RR
Saturday, May 19, 2-4 pm
Paint a one-of-a-kind portrait of your pet! Led by local artist Sherry Hoffman, participants supply their favorite face-on pet pic and fill in a line drawing rendition with acrylics. Cost is $15 per person, to be paid at the time of registration. Grades 6-12

Let’s move! Join us for a morning of singing, dancing, and moving around! Ages 1-2

First Look Book Group *RR
Wednesday, May 23, 3 pm
Want to discover the next big thing in YA lit? First Look is for you! Hang out with other teen fiction aficionados and read books hot off the presses! Snacks provided. Grades 6-12 

Music and More with Bernadette Baird *RR
Wednesday, May 23, 6:30 pm
Bernadette Baird presents music and movement for toddlers and young children through age three. Sing, play musical instruments and dance. Ages 1-3

Drop-In Storytime

Drop in for stories, songs, rhymes and a fun craft!  Space is limited. Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.  Ages 2-5 and one or more adults
