VIDEO: Wilmington Police Officer Kevin Skinner Rescues Residents, Pets From House Fire

WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington Police Officer Kevin Skinner is being heralded a hero.

Skinner responded to reports of a fire on Ohio Street on Saturday, May 12 around 1am. Upon arrival, Skinner discovered the home’s back porch engulfed in flames.

Acting quickly, Skinner woke up the two residents in the home and assisted them with rounding up their four pets — two dogs and two birds — evacuating them all to safety.

The Wilmington Fire Department, with the assistance of the Billerica and Tewksbury Fire Departments, was able to extinguish the fire before it spread to the interior of the home.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
