WHS SOFTBALL: Wilmington Falls To Lexington As The Bats Go Cold

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington High School Varsity Softball team (7-3) defeated Lexington High by a score of 5-1 on Monday, May 7 in Lexington.

The Wildcats took a 1-0 lead in the third inning after Antonia Kieran executed a great hit and run for a triple scoring Dana Goulet.

Unfortunately, the Wildcats experienced a huge defensive let down in the fourth inning, committing 3 errors, which led to 4 runs. Lexington never looked back.

Wilmington had the bases loaded in the fifth inning, as well as two runners in scoring position in the seventh, but could not get that timely hit.

The lone bright spot offensively was Antonia Kieran, who went 3-4 with a single, double and triple.
