WILMINGTON, MA — Patricia A. (McLaughlin) Doucette, age 85, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2018, at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House.
Patricia was born on February 12, 1933, in Dorchester, MA; she was the dear daughter John and Margaret McLaughlin. Patricia was raised and educated in Dorchester and was a graduate of St. Margaret’s Catholic School with the Class of 1951.
Patricia married “the love of her life” Richard Edward Doucette “Eddie” in 1956; the couple lived in Dorchester for several years before moving to Wilmington in 1969. Patricia and Eddie shared many terrific years together, raised two wonderful children, and enjoyed their grandchildren before his untimely passing in 1993. Family was always first to Patricia; she was a very devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother who would do anything for her family. Patricia spent countless hours at her children’s and grandchildren’s school and sporting events; she was always there to cheer them on and enjoyed every moment with them. Patricia’s family also included her family dogs whom she adored and cared for.
Patricia’s was known to be an excellent home maker; she had an open door policy for family and friend and she always made everyone feel welcomed. Patricia took great pride in her home and yard; she loved gardening and was a master a cloning plants.
Patricia will be fondly remembered as a wonderful lady; she was caring and sweet to her family and friends. Patricia will forever be in the hearts of those she loved and she will forever be missed.
Patricia was the beloved wife of the late Richard “Eddie” Doucette, devoted mother of Susan M. Isberg of Wilmington and Richard E. Doucette Jr. & his wife Lynn of North Reading. Loving Grandmother of Jay, Christopher, Jake, Erik, Nicholas and great-grandchildren Jason, Krystiana, Patrick and Kennedy. Cherished daughter of the late John and Margaret McLaughlin, dear sister of the late Margaret Murphy, John McLaughlin and Sister Virginia McLaughlin. Patricia is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Friday, May 11th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington at 10:00 a.m. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting Hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, May 10th from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
