I am writing to offer my sincere and humble thanks to all of the voters of Wilmington who took the time out of their (beautiful) Saturday to come out and exercise their right to vote. I am grateful for the overwhelming support in my successful bid to be re-elected Town Moderator.
I also wanted to thank those who offered to help during the campaign. Whether you called for a lawn sign, spoke to your friends, or held a sign last Saturday, your support is appreciated more than you will ever know.
To my family, both immediate and extended, thanks for being there for me, not only during this election cycle, but always.
To my wife, Kelly, I love you more than words could ever express, and I am continually in awe of your willingness to love and support me in all of my endeavors.
To my daughter, Hadley (who won’t be able to read this for about four years), I hope you know how much I love you. My parents (your Papa and Nimmie) raised me to understand the importance of volunteerism, and I hope that some day you decide to volunteer and give back to Wilmington, just as I have.
I would also like to thank every other candidate on the ballot. Win or lose, your decision to give back to Wilmington is admirable. Now that the votes have been counted and the various races decided, we must ALL work together to move Wilmington forward and make our town the best it can be.
Lastly, to the countless number of people who reached out over the past week to encourage me to run for State Representative, thank you. Although I briefly considered it, and would have been truly honored to have succeeded Representative Miceli, now is not the time for me. I have always been taught by my parents, who in turn were taught by their parents, that your family comes first. At this time, my focus is, and will continue to be, on my family.
Please remember that our Annual Town Meeting is this coming Saturday, May 5, 2018, at 10:30 A.M., and is being held in the Wilmington High School Auditorium. Each and every vote taken up at Town Meeting will have a profound effect on the direction of our town. Your attendance at Town Meeting is crucial to ensure that all votes are a true and accurate reflection of the voice of the townspeople of Wilmington.
Thanks again for your overwhelming support.
