BREAKING NEWS: State Rep. Jim Miceli Has Passed Away (UPDATED)

WILMINGTON, MA — State Rep. Jim Miceli passed away shortly after 11am at Winchester Hospital, after collapsing during this morning’s Wilmington Little League Opening Day Ceremony at Rotary Park.

According to eye-witness reports, Miceli was immediately attended to by first responders, who gave him CPR for approximately 10-15 minutes.

According to the scanner reports, Miceli was in full cardiac arrest, unconscious and not breathing. He was transported via ambulance with a medic and 3 firefighters.

Miceli, 83, has represented Wilmington in the State House since 1977.

The news was confirmed with Wilmington Fire Chief Joseph McMahon.

  7. I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Jim Miceli. I met him when I moved to Billerica MA in 1988 through my sister. And we remained in touch through the 14yrs my husband Bill and I lived in Tewksbury. My condolences to his family he was a well loved man who had a big heart.

Jim always had a kind word for all that crossed his path, and always helped out anyone that needed it. Prayers and condolences to the entire “Miceli Family”! He is in my family’s heart.
