WORCESTER, MA — The Assumption College Department of Athletics has announced that Michael Curtis, of Wilmington, has been named to the 2018 Assumption College baseball team. Curtis, Class of 2018, will compete during the Greyhounds’ spring season, which began in late February when the team traveled to the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, NC, for a four-game series, followed by eight games during their annual spring break trip to Florida.
“As a program, we are very excited about the 2018 season,” said fifth-year head baseball coach Mike Rocco. “Our returning players, have helped lead a team that has created an incredible atmosphere in the clubhouse. It is our hope that their guidance and mentoring will continue both on the field and in the classroom.”
Of its 45 scheduled games, Assumption will play 14 of them at home at Rocheleau Field. In 2017, the Hounds posted a 10-17 record (17-25 overall) in the Northeast-10 Conference, and were ranked fifth in the NE10 Conference Preseason Coach’s Poll for this upcoming season.
