The Wilmington Insider For March 24, 2018

WILMINGTON, MA — Below is a round-up of what’s going on in Wilmington on Saturday, March 24, 2018:

Happening Today:

Weather: A chance of snow showers between 11am and 2pm, then a chance of rain showers after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 40. Northwest wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

At Wilmington Public Schools: March-A-Pella X takes place at 7pm in the WHS Auditorium. Tickets cost $18 for adults and $12 for students and seniors at the door. The evening is packed with a cappella performances from national recording artists Ball in the House, the Boston-based group Fermata Town,  Boston University’s BosTones, Wheaton College’s The Wheatones, Wilmington High School’s SoundScape and Wilmington Middle School’s WilmingTones! Organizers will be collecting cash contributions for a monetary donation to be made to the Wilmington Food Pantry.

At Wilmington Public Schools: The Wilmington Middle School Drama Club presents its spring musical, “Alice in Wonderland, Jr.,” this Thursday, March 22 (7pm); Friday, March 23 (7pm); and Saturday, March 24 (1pm) in the Wilmington Middle School Auditorium. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $7 for students (12 and under).  Students may also purchase tickets in advance during lunch this Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Tickets can be purchased at the door (pending availability).

In The Community:  The Castleberry Faire Spring Craft Festival will take place on Saturday, March 24, from 10am to 5pm, and Sunday, March 25, from 10am to 4pm, at the Shriners Auditorium (99 Fordham Road). In The Community: Dick’s Sporting Goods is offering Wilmington Little League families 20% off throughout the store on Saturday, March 24 and Sunday, March 25.  This coupon is valid at the store’s Davners, Saugus, and Salem, NH locations.

In The Community: The Friends of the Wilmington Memorial Library’s Book Store Next Door (183 Middlesex Avenue) is open from 10am to 4pm. All books are $2 or less!  Every penny of every sale benefits the Wilmington Memorial Library.

In The Community: The Wilmington Food Pantry (142 Chestnut Street) is open from 10am to noon for food donation drop-offs. Learn which food items the Pantry is most in need of HERE.

At The Library: The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding several programs. Drop-In Baby Times at 9:30am. Dads & Donuts at 10:30am. Pokemon Club at 3pm. [Learn more and register HERE.]
