WILMINGTON, MA — Mary Elizabeth Orlowski, age 64, a life-long resident of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2018, following a lengthy illness.
Mary came into the world on January 16, 1954 and she was such a delight to her family. She was the cherished daughter of the late Leonard T. and Mary M. (Muse) Orlowski. Mary adored her family and friends; she looked forward to holidays, special trips, and her annual Easter Egg Hunt. She loved being an “Auntie” and was the best daughter and sister anyone could ask for.
Mary had a great personality, so endearing, warm and friendly. She was very loyal, caring, and kind; Mary could always be counted on to watch over anyone who was ill in the family.
Mary also had a “spunky” side that was always game for an adventure. Mary loved to vacation with her family where she enjoyed seeing new places and meeting new people. She was an “avid outdoor person” who loved snowmobiling, swimming, fishing, attending Camp 40 Acres in Wilmington, or do any other activity that got her out in the fresh air.
Mary was quite an athlete who loved to bowl, play baseball, and participate in the annual “Take A Kid Fishing” tournaments that were held in Wilmington and surrounding towns; it was no surprise that Mary always came home with a trophy. Mary could be very competitive but she always had a great time no matter what she was participating in.
Mary had a musical side and great rhythm; she loved to dance and sing to the Monkey’s and Beach Boys tunes and when not singing and dancing she enjoyed watching her favorite show, The Three Stooges and hanging out with her friends at the Bedford House.
Mary will be fondly remembered as “one of a kind”; she was outgoing, caring, friendly and always had a positive disposition. Mary loved her family and friends unconditionally and she will forever be in the hearts of those she loved.
Mary was the cherished daughter of the late Leonard T. and Mary M. (Muse) Orlowski, beloved sister of Judith McFeeters & husband George of Wilmington, Loving aunt of Deborah A. & Jason Tyler and their children John Thomas and Emma Mary, Bryan P. & Kerrie McFeeters and their son Connor Jeffrey. Dear niece of Mary Catherine Orlowski of Beverly. Mary is also survived by many cousins.
Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Friday, March 23rd from 10:00-11:45 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington at 12:00 noon. Interment will take place in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
Memorial donations in Mary’s name may be made to the Special Olympics Massachusetts, 512 Forest St., Marlborough, MA 01752.
Mary’s family would like to thank Kevin McDonough who was her case worker at the Kelleher Center; he always took a special interest in Mary and made a difference in her life. They would also like to thank Carol Donovan who was such a special teacher and the dedicated staff at the Bedford House.
