WILMINGTON, MA — Below is a list of FREE upcoming programs for adults, teens and kids at the Wilmington Memorial Library.

Poetry Circle *RR
Saturday, March 17, 9:15 am-11:30 am

Love poetry? The poetry circle is a great opportunity to meet other poets and get constructive feedback in a supportive environment. When registering, please provide your email address so you can receive an agenda and any prep materials in advance. Led by local writing enthusiast, Barbara Alevras.

Domestic Affairs Discussion Group (cost $25 per attendee, limit 25) *RR
Mondays March 19, April 2, 23, 30, 7 pm
This four-part discussion series will tackle the following domestic issues: Health Care in the United States, Taxes, Spending and Deficits, Corporate Rights, and Media in the 21st Century. Facilitator Keith West will prepare background-reading material, which will be available at registration.

Wool Applique Workshop (cost $10, limit 12, age 16+) *RR
Tuesday, March 20, 2:30 pm-4:30 pm

Learn the basics of wool applique as you create a fun seasonal piece with a few simple stitches.  Learn the blanket, whip and running stitches as well as how to fuse the wool to the background.  There will be plenty of material to practice with and colors from which to choose. All supplies provided; led by experienced crafter Vicki Murphy.

Astronomy for Everyone: Size and Scale of the Universe *RR
Thursday, March 22, 7 pm
Experience an inspiring and uplifting presentation that will draw you into a deeper understanding of the workings of the universe. Join us for this family-friendly presentation, learning more about the beauty and harmony of the universe from the very small to the very large. It’s a virtual journey throughout the cosmos. Kevin Manning worked as a consultant with NASA and the Chandra X-Ray Observatory launched on the space shuttle with the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.

Let’s move! Join us for a morning of singing, dancing, and moving around! Ages 1-2

Drop-In Storytime
Friday in March 23, 10:00 am
Drop in for stories, songs, rhymes and a fun craft!  Space is limited. Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.  Ages 2-5 and one or more adults

R.E.A.D. Middle Grade Book Club *RR
Friday, March 16, 3:45 pm
Read, Eat and Discuss great books written for kids in grades 4-5. 

Astronomy for Everyone: Size and Scale of the Universe *RR

Drop-In Baby Times
Saturday, March 24 9:30 am
Babies and their caregivers will enjoy this fun storytime that includes rhymes, songs, books, scarves, shakers, bubbles and more.  Infants through 24 months 

Dads and Donuts
Saturday, March 24, 10:30 am
Dads and their kids ages two and up are invited to drop in for stories, songs, rhymes and more.  Moms, grandparents and other caregivers are welcome, too! Ages 2-5 and one or more adults

Pokémon Club *RR
Saturday, March 24, 3 pm
Join other Pokémon lovers to play the game, trade cards and have fun! Grades 1+

Library News

Food for Fines
In lieu of fines, the library will accept items for the Wilmington Food Pantry as payment during the month of March. In support of this effort, we ask that the items brought be comparable in cost to the fines owed.
