WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Friday, March 2, 2018:
- NOTE: Police responded to more than 30 downed wire or downed tree calls throughout the day.
- A caller reported his vehicle was struck by another vehicle’s door, possibly blown open by the wind, at Cumberland Farms. Caller noted damage done to the passenger side front door. (6:08am0
- Fire Department and RMLD responded to a wire and tree fire on Industrial Way. (6:49am)
- Parent of a May Institute student requested extra patrols of the school’s parking lot between 8:30am and 9am. Buses dropping of clients of adult programming is continuously speeding through the area. (9:55am)
- A tree fell onto a house on Shawsheen Avenue. Police notified homeowner. Fire Department deemed the house uninhabitable. (12:45pm)
- Police received report of a trampoline in the road on Middlesex Avenue. Owner was able to retrieve and secure in yard. (2:16pm)
- A caller reported 2 white males appearing to be shooting up in the area of Agostino Drive and Gandalf Way. Police were unable to locate. (3:19pm)
- A Birchwood Avenue caller reported a trampoline blew into his yard. (3:31pm)
- A mailbox was found in the roadway on Boutwell Street. (3:49pm)
- A caller reported the wind blew the traffic lights at the Shawsheen/Hopkins intersection in the wrong direction. (4:02pm)
- MBTA train hit a tree past Salem Street. As a result, train arms were stuck down on Salem Street. MBTA had a bus pick up passengers from the disabled train. (4:05pm)
- CVS Pharmacy manager reported prescription fraud. Police confirmed 2 fraudulent prescriptions — 1 for oxycodone and 1 for adderall. (4:55pm)
