WILMINGTON, MA — Here are TEN things that happened at the Wilmington Board of Selectmen Meeting on Monday, February 26, 2018:
#1) Selectmen approved the request of the Wilmington Farmers Market Association to use the Swain Green to hold the Farmers Market on Sundays, from June 10 through September 18, with no market on July 4. The market’s hours will remain 10am to 1pm.
#2) Selectmen approved the request of the Wilmington Community Fund to use the Town Common Parking Lot to hold a Town Shredding Day on Saturday, September 22, from 9am to noon. The Community Fund will now organize the event, not the library.
#3) Selectmen approved the request of PMC Wilmington Kids Coordinator Susan Hendee to close a portion of Cater Lane to hold the Annual PanMass Challenge Wilmington Kids Bike Ride on Sunday, May 20, from 8am to noon.
#4) Selectmen approved the request of the Wilmington Sons of Italy and Wilmington Band Parents to use the Swain School Parking Lot to hold a Giant Yard Sale Fundraiser on Saturday, September 8, from 7am to 5:30pm.
#5) Selectmen approved the request from Wilmington Band Parents and Friends to sell coffee, donuts, popcorn, cold drinks, pompoms and balloons during the town’s Memorial Day Parade.
#6) Selectmen approved the request from Wilmington Band Parents and Friends to sell popcorn, cotton candy, hot pretzels, soda and water during the Recreation Department’s Summer Concert Series on Wednesday nights in July on the Town Common.
#7) Selectmen approved the request of Grace Chapel to use the Town Common for a Community Easter Sunday Sunrise Service on Sunday, April 1, from 6am to 7am.
#8) Selectmen approved the request of the Middlesex Canal Commission to install a sign on the kiosk at Town Park, promoting the Canal and its history.
#9) Selectmen approved the request to change managers of the Shriners Auditorium (Aleppo Temple) from Ernest A. Pearlstein to Stephen G. Eriksen.
#10) Selectmen approved Wilmington GameStop’s request for a secondhand dealer license.
