CANDIDATE ANNOUNCEMENT: Rob Fasulo Announces He’s Running For Wilmington Selectmen

Hello Wilmington Residents,

I am announcing my candidacy for the Wilmington Board of Selectmen in our upcoming town election. Many of you know my family and I as we have been active members of this community since the early 1970’s. For those who don’t, I attended Wilmington Public Schools starting with the Swain School and graduating from Shawsheen Tech. I have spent the better part of my life involved in various aspects of Law Enforcement including a volunteer Auxiliary Police Officer in town (1998-2004), and have a degree in Criminal Justice.

I am married with three children, ages 10, 7 and 18 months. My wife is an educator here in town and together we own a small farm located right here in Wilmington where we produce eggs, honey and maple syrup that we make available at local farmers markets.

I entered this race because I am concerned with the direction in which I see our town moving. I grew up in a community where everyone knew everyone – you couldn’t walk through Market Basket without seeing friends or neighbors – and there was never a worry about the future of the town or of a dramatic rise in taxes.

Today, things are very different. We have large housing complexes being built and proposed throughout town bringing in hundreds of new residents at a time straining our school system and taxing the town’s infrastructure. There is very little open space left and the residents have big concerns for our future. As a civilian looking in, it appears our community is being sold and replaced with mega structures, out of place businesses, and large-scale housing developments benefiting a select few people.

For years, I have advocated that selectmen were elected to represent us, the residents of the town. I will fight on behalf of every resident to keep our community a place we can be proud of with good schools, well taken care of streets and great police and fire departments. I will be a representative who will listen and do everything within my ability to help. I also will not compromise my integrity or values either during this election period or while holding office.

In closing, I hope you will support me this coming election.

Thank you,

Rob Fasulo
