WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Recreation Department is promoting several upcoming classes for kids and adults.
Intro To Gymja Warrior
Could YOU be a future ‘American Ninja Warrior’ competitor? The Wilmington Recreation Dept. and Gymja Warrior in Woburn have come together to offer a new ‘Intro to Gymja Warrior’ class for children in Grades 2 – 5! Students will gain experience navigating an obstacle course including challenges featured on the TV show such as the rope swing, monkey bars, and more. They even have an age-appropriate ‘Warped Wall’! This program is designed to improve balance, strength, and gross motor skills through the development of parkour skills. This program will run on Friday evenings, March 2 – April 6, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Cost is $165.
Couch To CrossFit
Attention parents! Why should kids have all the fun? At the same time and in the same location as the above program, we are also introducing ‘Couch to CrossFit’ that will gently introduce you to this increasingly popular activity without having to make a huge commitment. Designed for the ‘regular’, maybe-not-so-athletic type, this program will provide adults with a fitness routine that incorporates aspects of sports and different types of exercise. Adaptive techniques and optional ‘homework’ challenges will be provided so that you can continue your journey to fitness at home off the couch! This program will run on Friday evenings, March 2 – April 6, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Cost is $135.
Edison’s Workshop
Join the Wilmington Recreation Dept. as we explore electricity, magnetism, light and sound in our new program, ‘Edison’s Workshop’. Learn what’s “current” as you make hair rise and water bend! Make an electromagnet as we uncover all the “attractive” and “repulsive” facts. This class will meet on Mondays, March 5 – April 2 from 4 – 5 p.m. and costs $85.
To register for any of the above classes, visit www.wilmingtonma.gov/recreation, call 978-658-4270 or stop by Town Hall, Room 8, Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:3pm.
