With 2018 upon us, people in Tewksbury and Wilmington will be keeping a watchful eye on State Rep Jim Miceli.
In November, the Lowell Sun published a story about Rep Miceli’s inability to vote in the house chamber due to his failing health. If and when he votes for his constituents, it’s from his office.
And I say if and when, because during the final month of formal house session (November), the soon to be 83-year-old missed nearly half of the roll call votes (Missed 14 out of 31), including all six votes on November 13. That’s the day amendments were debated for the controversial criminal justice reform bill. That’s a day when the 19th Middlesex District had no voice on Beacon Hill.
How many more voiceless days will it take for the district to realize it’s time to wish Rep. Miceli well in his retirement?
