In The Community: Abundant Life Church (173 Church Street) is holding a Winter Fun event for local children (Kindergarten to Grade 5) from 1pm to 4pm. Activities include: Cookie Decorating, Lego Building, Floral Creating, Painting Wooden Ornaments, and Jewelry Making. All children will also participate in games in the gym, make their own sundaes, and watch a Superbook episode. Parents have the option of staying or dropping their children off. A portion of donations will be given to My Father’s House in North Chelmsford.
In The Community: Boston Roller Derby, a Boston-based, female-only roller derby league, returns to the Shriners Auditorium (99 Fordham Road). Doors open at 4pm. The action begins at 5pm with the Nutcrackers and the Wicked Pissahs. The Cosmonaughties battle The Harbor Horrors at 7pm. An After Party starts at 9pm. Tickets include admission to the game, plus entry into the after party. Tickets are $12 (advance) and $16 (at the door) for adults; $6 (advance) and $8 (at the door) for kids (6-17); and kids under 6 are free. There is a small fee for online purchases. In The Community: The Wilmington High School Boosters Association is holding its Annual Dance at 7pm at the Tewksbury/Wilmington Elks (777 South Street, Tewksbury). This fun evening includes live music from the local band Bed By Nine. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own food. Tickets cost $20 each. All proceeds from this popular fundraiser will benefit the Boosters Scholarship Fund.
In The Community: 6th, 7th and 8th grade students living in Wilmington are invited to join the Wilmington Youth Center and enjoy being part of a community that offers a safe place to hang out with your friends and have fun! The Wilmington Youth Center, located inside Villanova Hall (126 Middlesex Avenue), will be open every Saturday night, from 7pm to 9:30pm, from November 25, 2017 to March 17, 2018. In The Community: The Friends of the Wilmington Memorial Library’s Book Store Next Door (183 Middlesex Avenue) is open from 10am to 4pm. All books are $2 or less! Every penny of every sale benefits the Wilmington Memorial Library.
