WILMINGTON, MA — At its latest meeting, the Wilmington School Committee accepted more than $12,000 in donations from four sources:
The Wilmington Educational Foundation donated $5,441.80 in proceeds from the Joanne Benton Memorial WEF Walk. The six schools who participated in the walk received their share to use for the betterment of their schools under the discretion of their principals.
Adam Quinn, of Adam Donuts Inc., owner of six of the Dunkin’ Donuts in town, donated $5,000 to support the district’s 1:1 Chromebook initiative.
IBM Corporation donated $2,000 in the form of a grant to the Wilmington High School’s DECA Team. This annual donation was facilitated by Wilmington resident and IBM executive Kathleen Sullivan.
The Tewksbury/Wilmington Elks Lodge #2070 donated dictionaries, valued at $595, to every third grade student at the Shawsheen Elementary School and Woburn Street Elementary School. This annual donation was facilitated by Elks member Harry Cansee.
Chair Steve Bjork, on behalf of the School Committee, thanked each donor for their generous contributions.
