WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Recreation Department still have openings in the following youth activities this winter:
STEM Fun Classes
Does your child have a curious mind? On Saturdays, Jan 6 – Feb 10 the Rec. Dept is offering a “STEM Fun” class where kids are encouraged to ask, think, explore and discover things around them. During each class, the children will learn STEM concepts through hands-on activities, engaging stories, music and movement, challenges, and even simple experiments ideal for little hands. Ages 3 – 5 will meet from 9:15 – 10:15 a.m. and children in grades K – 2 will meet from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Cost is $100.
Does your child want to try something new for a New Year’s resolution? We have openings for children aged 2-12 in our ‘Yoga Play’ classes! The benefits of Yoga extend well beyond simply having fun. It increases flexibility, calms the mind, improves athleticism, strength and balance. This low cost, low commitment class runs on 5 Saturday mornings from Jan 6 – Feb 3. Cost is $35.00.
Kinder Basketball, for kids age 4 through Kindergarten, is the first step in your child’s basketball career or an opportunity for them to try out a new sport. With a big emphasis on having fun, the kids will have a “ball” while learning the basic skills and movements of this popular lifelong sport. Limited openings are still available for our Saturday sessions, Jan 6 – 27; 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. Cost is $40.
