WILMINGTON, MA — Below is a round-up of what’s going on in Wilmington on Thursday, November 30, 2017:

In The News:

Lowell Sun Editorial: In yesterday’s Lowell Sun, the paper announced its opposition to the proposed zoning changes relative to detox centers in town. “We urge Wilmington voters to reject that industrial-zone-only detox article,” said the editors. “These individuals — perhaps a neighbor or even a family member — need every option available to beat the potentially lethal hold of drug dependency. Don’t pre-emptively slam the door on one of those lifelines.” Read the entire editorial (“Wilmington: Don’t ‘hide’ detox center with site restriction”) HERE.

Happening Today:

Weather: Mostly sunny, with a high near 43. Light and variable wind.

Traffic Advisory: Butters Row Bridge will be closed through at least December 8. The MassDOT are repairing damaged bridge timber deck planks and timber stringers. Work will take place daily from 7am to 7pm. Detour routes are posted HERE.

In The Community: The Wilmington Finance Committee and Wilmington Planning Board is holding a Joint Public Hearing to discuss the Special  Town Meeting Warrant at 7pm in the Town Hall Auditorium.
