WILMINGTON, MA — Below is a list of FREE upcoming programs for adults, teens and kids at the Wilmington Memorial Library.
Holiday Open House at the Book Store Next Door
Enjoy warm cider and cookies while you shop for holiday gift books at the Holiday Open House on Saturday, December 2 from 4 pm to 7pm. All holiday books are half price off the already low prices through December 20. Gift certificates make great stocking stuffers and gifts for your child’s teacher. Book Store hours are Wednesday and Saturday 10 am to 4 pm. All proceeds benefit the Wilmington Memorial Library!
Registration begins 30 days prior to the event. Please register online using our Calendar of Events at www.wilmlibrary.org or by calling (978) 694-2099 (for Adult) or (978) 694-2098 (for Children/Teen). Please note we request registration for programs that are marked *RR. Thank you to the Friends of the Library for funding support for library programs!
Mill Girls *RR
Monday, December 4, 2:30 pm
Entrepreneurs sought out independent, hard-working farm women to help fill the labor void during the American Industrial Revolution, creating the largest gathering of young unmarried, unaccompanied women who earned their own pay. Boston Brahmins, who bankrolled New England’s mills inadvertently, triggered new social forces that rippled across the country. Presented by author and lecturer Doug Stewart, who has written stories for the Smithsonian, National Wildlife, and others.
Using Age to Your Advantage in Your Job Search *RR

Learn how to respond to age-related interview questions and why age can be an advantage in your job search. Topics include discrimination laws, résumé tips and general strategies. Guest speaker Kathy Andre is the former Manager of Library Workshop Resources at the Career Place.

Cookies say holidays! Pick up a copy of the featured cookbook at the library, email your recipe selection to Lisa Crispin (firstname.lastname@example.org), make three dozen; then come to the meeting and go home with a variety of cookies.
