WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington Public Schools Office of Student Support Services is holding an important workshop for parents — “Navigating The Cyber World” — on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 7pm in the Wilmington Middle School Auditorium. Childcare will be provided.
The workshop will review the challenges and dangerous situations that children and teens may face when using the Internet, social media and smart phones. Attendees will learn about the latest popular apps, social media sites and programs used by youth online. The issues and possible consequences from cyber bullying, sexting and revealing identifying information to strangers will be explored.
The event is free of charge thanks to Wilmington’s membership in the Middlesex Partnerships for Youth, Inc. (MYP), a non-profit organization which closely partners with the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office. The MYP has been providing training, fostering collaboration, and developing programs to increase the health and safety of students in Wilmington and the rest of Middlesex County for the past 20 years.
