In The News:
Town Wants To Hear From You: In Monday’s Lowell Sun, Kori Tuitt reminds readers that the town is seeking resident input on whether town-owned land should be sold for the purpose of affordable housing developments. Come to a special Selectmen’s Meeting on Monday, November 13 at 7pm in the Wilmington High School Auditorium to share your thoughts.
Happening Today:
No School: Wilmington Public Schools is CLOSED due to a Professional Development Day. (It’s also Election Day, but there’s no election in Wilmington.)
Weather: Increasing clouds, with a high near 49. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the afternoon.
Traffic Advisory: Butters Row Bridge will be closed through November 10. The MassDOT are repairing damaged bridge timber deck planks and timber stringers. Work will take place daily from 7am to 7pm. Detour routes are posted HERE. … A Sewer Project on Lowell Street is underway from 7am to 4pm. Short traffic delays are expected particularly as the project advances through the Woburn and Lowell Street intersection.
Fall Yardwaste: The Town will collect leaves and grass clippings placed in biodegradable paper bags or uncovered barrels at curbside on regular trash collection days over the next five weeks. Also, the Yard Waste Center will be open special hours today from 8am to 2pm.
At Town Hall: The Wilmington Board of Health meets at 5:30pm in Room 9 of Town Hall. Read the agenda HERE.
At Town Hall: The Wilmington Bylaw Study Committee meets at 6:30pm in the Small Conference Room at Town Hall. Read the agenda HERE.
At Town Hall: The Wilmington Planning Board meets at 7pm in Room 9 of Town Hall. Read the agenda HERE.
In The Community: The Tewksbury/Wilmington Elks holds bingo — open to the public — every Tuesday at 6:45pm. Doors open at 5pm. Pizza, hot dog and pastries are sold. Free coffee.
In The Community: Angels In Motion meets every Tuesday, from 9:30am to 2:30pm, at the Wilmington Knights of Columbus Hall (112 Middlesex Avenue). The club provides a great opportunity for seniors to meet new friends or reacquaint with old ones. A luncheon is served as noon. Free. Handicapped accessible.
Live Music: Larry Gilbert performs at Rocco’s Restaurant & Bar (193 Main Street) beginning at 6pm.
