Wilmington Youth Soccer’s Latest In-Town Game Summaries

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are Wilmington Youth Soccer in-town game summaries from Saturday, October 21, 2017.

Pre-K Girls Games:

The crowd was kept on the edge of their seats this week as Harvard was led by the offensive skills of Emma Higgins resulted in scoring opportunities by Hailey Brabant, Gisella DiGiovanni and Alexa DiGiovanni. The defense was not to be left out of this one either as Carmelia D’Alleva, Grace Connolly and Allie Smaroff kept the ball out of their zone for much of the game.

Boys Kinder Games:

Chicago Fire vs. Columbus Crew

The crowds gathered at the Shawsheen fields for this back and forth game. The Chicago Fire led by Bruce Hunter, Connnor Mangini, Cullom Jones and Liam Mills-Baptiste got the crowd jumping out of their seats.  Max Brugel led the scoring charge, while the great defensive effort of Calvin Lozzi, Joseph Michaud, Dom Santos, and Brody Aprile kept the action going.

Boys Grade 1 Games:

NY Red Bulls vs. D.C. United

The crowd was kept on the edge of their seats this week as the New York Red Bulls battled D.C. United. The Red Bulls, led by the offensive skills of Gabriel Cummings, generated scoring opportunities by David Jamieson and goals by Davio Dicenso and Tyler Hally. The defense was not to be left out of this one either as Logan Lopes and Merit Bigambo kept the ball out of their zone for much of the game.

Girls Grade 1 Games:

Chicago Red Stars vs. Orlando Pride

In what could have been confused as a World Cup Match, the Chicago Red Stars started off strong with great offensive pressure from Riley Lopes, Taylor Stone & Isabella Deloiveria.  Coupled with the steel-like defense of Reigan Glover and Olivia Howie, their efforts made for an incredible game. Ashley Andreson scored first for the Chicago Red Stars, while the Hope Solo like effort of Emily Falk, Ella Connolly and Leah Tucci provided solid goal-keeping to keep their team alive.

Boys Grade 2 Games:

NY Red Bulls vs. Columbus Crew

In a game that could have been mistaken for a World Cup match, the NY Red Bulls started off strong with great offensive pressure from rising stars David and Jonathan Poulose and lightning fast Jacob McGahey and Caden Merritt. Coupled with the steel-like defense of Mason Carr, Dante DiGiovanni, and Tommy Demers, their efforts made for an incredible game. Charlie Chiocariello and Logan Augustyniak scored for the Red Bulls, while goalkeepers DiGiovanni, Chiocariello, and Demers made crucial saves throughout the game.

Girls Grade 2 Games:

Orlando Pride vs. N.C. Courage

The crowds gathered at the Shawsheen fields for this back and forth game. The Orland pride led by Alice Crowley, Evelyn LaClair, Emily Laquidara, and Lilly Mehr got the crowd jumping out of their seats. Leah Doucette, Caroline Broussard and Kaylin Mulik led the scoring charge, while the great defensive effort of Julie McMullen, Abby O’Donoghue and Emily Quamme kept the action going.
