Meet Wilmington Authors At Tewksbury Book Fest On November 4

TEWKSBURY, MA – The Tewksbury Public Library is putting the spotlight on local authors with its first annual Tewksbury Book Festival on Saturday, November 4, from 10am to 1pm.

This Fall Author Fair will feature a diverse collection of Tewksbury and Wilmington writers.  Stop by the library’s Meeting Room anytime during this three-hour event to meet local authors, learn about their books, enjoy complimentary donuts (10am-11:30am), pizza (11:30am-1pm) and drinks, and enter to win free raffles.  Admission is FREE and open to all.

Participating authors include:

  • Steve Bjork (Wilmington), former editor of the Wilmington/Tewksbury Town Crier and author of Almost Domesticated: A Comedian’s Collection of Short Stories and Essays.
  • Valerie Borgal (Tewksbury), artist and author of the cookbook Jeanne’s Favorite Recipes
  • Bob Briggs (Tewksbury), author of the children’s books Grateful Bob: The Beginning and Grateful Bob: Tommy Defeats The Dragon
  • Dan Graffeo (Tewksbury), author of the teen series Halloween Night Fever, the horror novel The Gambling Bug, and a forthcoming book about the Hugh & Ruth Mahoney family of Tewksbury
  • R.C. Mulhare (Tewksbury), member of the New England Horror Writers, author of The Wings at His Window, and contributor to many anthologies, including Wicked Haunted
  • Dave Riese (Wilmington), author of short-story collection The Blue Dress and the award-winning historical romance Echo from Mount Royal
  • Mark Ryan (Wilmington), author of the short story collection Adventures of the Romeo Gang and the short story Escape North
  • Please note that two additional local authors will likely be announced prior to the event.

While there’s no obligation to purchase, each author will be selling and signing copies of their work. This is a great opportunity to get some holiday shopping done for the book lovers in your life while supporting the local writing scene.

Less than two weeks after the Book Festival, the library will debut its local author collection on Monday, November 13. This small (but growing) collection will feature books written exclusively by authors who live, or have lived, in Tewksbury.  In addition to authors featured at the Fair, the collection will include books written by Miles Coverdale, Jeffrey Frost, world renowned sculptor Mico Kaufman, Cathy Marci, Rose Titus, Jean Trounstine, and Joe Votano.

If you know of any Tewksbury authors who are not listed above, please contact librarian Robert Hayes at 978-640-4490 x 205 or so their work can be added to the library’s local author collection and they can be invited to next year’s Tewksbury Book Festival.
