In The News:

  • Next Week’s Big News Stories: Property Taxes, Town Beach Rates, and the Sale of Recreational Marijuana will be discussed at Monday’s Wilmington Board of Selectmen. Read the hot-off-the-press agenda HERE.
  • Another Year, Another State Tournament Berth: Congratulations to the WHS Girls Varsity Soccer team for qualifying for the MIAA playoffs on Thursday night.

Happening Today:

  • Weather: Patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 68. Northwest wind 3 to 8 mph. Winds could gust as high as 21 mph.
  • In The Community: Haunted Woods is back!  The event features TEN scary attractions on the grounds of the Harnden Tavern (430 Salem Street, Wilmington). The Haunted Wodos runs from 6:30pm to 9:30pm on Friday, October 20; Saturday, October 21; Friday, October 27; and Saturday, October 28. Tickets cost $7 for students and $10 for adults. Parking is free and located behind the Harnden Tavern, off of Woburn Street.
  • Live Music: Pacific Grove (211 Lowell Street) is hosting karaoke at 8pm with Winnell Entertainment.
  • At The Library: Needleworkers from 10am to noon. Preschool Dance Party at 10am. R.E.A.D. Middle Grade Book Club at 3:45pm. [Learn more and register HERE.]
  • At The Senior Center: Special Exercise at 10am. Craft at 10am. Brain & Body Exercise at 11:30am. Bingo at 1pm. Cards at 1:30pm. [Learn more HERE.]
  • At The Senior Center (Part 2): Also, TODAY is the DEADLINE to apply for the town’s Senior Center Work Program. Learn more HERE.
  • On WCTV: Watch WCTV’s coverage of Monday’s “Welcome to Wilmington” Reception, including interviews with organizers Library Director Tina Stewart and Chamber of Commerce Director Nancy Vallee HERE.
  • Go Wildcats!: 5 Wilmington High teams are in action today, including the WHS Varsity Football Team taking on Stoneham at Stoneham High at 6:30pm. [See the complete schedule HERE.]
