PHOTOS: New Residents Enjoy “Welcome To Wilmington” Reception

WILMINGTON, MA — New residents flocked to the Wilmington Memorial Library on Monday night to learn more about their new community.

Representatives from more than 30 Town Departments, community groups and local businesses were on hand to greet new residents and answer questions as part of the town’s annual “Welcome to Wilmington” Reception, organized by the library and the Wilmington-Tewksbury Chamber of Commerce.

“We had new residents attend who had moved from as close as Burlington, and as far as France and Japan,” said Library Director Tina Stewart.  “They were all really appreciative of the opportunity to learn so much of what Wilmington has to offer.”

“A lot of valuable information was provided tonight,” added Stewart. She pointed to the DPW’s new electronic recycling program, volunteer opportunities offered by several community groups, the school system, and public safety as particularly popular topics.
