WILMINGTON, MA — The leaves are beginning to change, the temperature is dropping, pumpkin spiced everything is back… It must be time for Recreation Dept. Fall activities! We have several youth programs starting soon that children will enjoy:
Volleyball Clinic (Grades 2 – 4): This is an introductory program that teaches the basics of volleyball using modified equipment and standard volleyballs. Students will develop their skills and play mini-games while having fun! The clinic will run Monday evenings, October 16 – November 20, 6 Weeks, 6:30 – 7:20 p.m. Cost is $40.
Kinder Basketball (Age 4 – Kindergarten): It all starts here! In this 4-week program, our talented instructors will teach basic basketball skills such as dribbling, passing and shooting. Best of all, the kids will have a ‘ball’ while they learn! Classes are on Saturday mornings, October 21 – November 18, no 11/11, and we have 3 available sessions to choose from: 8:30, 10:30, or 11:30. Cost is $35.
Pottery Plus: In this 4-week program, children will create three pottery projects and one canvas painting. All pottery pieces will be functional, food-safe and make a memorable hand-crafted gift or collectible. Paints are non-toxic and washable. This class will run on Saturday mornings, October 21 – November 18. We’re offering two sessions of this program: Grades K – 2 will meet 10:15 – 11:15 a.m.; Grades 3 – 5 will meet 9 – 10 a.m. Cost is $52.
Viking Soccer Clinics (age 3 with caregiver): This introductory program teaches beginning soccer skills using age-appropriate techniques. Just like the big kids, now your child can play indoor soccer! This clinic will run on Saturday mornings, October 21 – December 9, (no 11/11 and 11/25), for 6 weeks. Available sessions are 9 – 9:45 a.m. or 10 – 10:45 a.m. Cost is $62.
Wilmington Recreation Department has your Screeemfest at Canobie Lake Park tickets! From now until October 29, purchase tickets in Room 8 of Town Hall on weekdays from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Cost is $33 per ticket, good for 48″ tall and up. Save up to $5 per ticket and avoid waiting in line!
