WILMINGTON, MA — Anne M. (MacDonald) Packard, age 62, of Wilmington, passed away on September 26, 2017.
Anne was born on December 30, 1954 in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada; she was the cherished daughter of the late Michael A. and Martina (MacIssac) MacDonald. Anne moved to the U.S. at age five with her family and they settled in Somerville; where she was raised and educated. She graduated from Somerville High School with the class of 1972.
Anne married “her sweetheart” Richard A. Packard on April 6, 1974; the couple moved to Wilmington in 1978 where they raised their three children: Devin, Christina, and Brenda.
Anne was an excellent homemaker and mother; she showered her family with unconditional love and was always there to lend a hand whenever needed. When Anne became a grandmother her world became even brighter; she looked forward to helping out with the grandchildren and she was so proud of all of them. Anne was an avid baker, cook, and a talented seamstress; she kept a warm and loving home and her door was always open to family and friends.
Anne enjoyed traveling; some of her favorite and most memorable trips included visiting her childhood home in Cape Breton. Anne was proud of her Scottish heritage and loved to listen to Scottish music.
Anne will be fondly remembered as a very sweet, kind lady; she loved her family and friends with all her heart. She will forever be missed.
Anne was the beloved wife of Richard A. “Dick” Packard, devoted mother of Devin Packard & his wife Sherry of Bradenton, FL, Christina White & her husband Christopher of Wilmington and Brenda Stokken & her husband Douglas of Chelmsford, loving “Grandma” of Brianna, Joshua and “Grammy” of Shanna, Audrina and Mason, cherished daughter of the late Michael A. and Martina (MacIssac) MacDonald, dear sister of Christina Murphy & her husband Waldo of N. Reading, Alanna MacDonald, Michael MacDonald both of Tewksbury, Carol Melanson & her husband Terrence of Brighton and the late Daniel MacDonald. Anne is also survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Family & friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Tuesday, October 3rd at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, at 10:00 a.m. Visiting Hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, October 2nd from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Memorial donations in Anne’s name may be made to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association, 801 Roeder Road, Ste. 1000, Silver Spring, MD 20910.
