10 Things You Need To Know In Wilmington Today (September 10, 2017)

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are TEN things you need to know in Wilmington for Sunday, September 10, 2017.

#1) According to the National Weather Service, Wilmington will see isolated showers after 10am. Partly sunny, with a high near 70. North wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

#2) The Wilmington Farmers Market is open from 10am to 1pm on the Swain Green, across from the Town Common.  The lineup can be found HERE.  A classic car show will take place next to the Market in the Swain School parking lot.

#3) Quench your thirst for a good cause this weekend! Wilmington youngster Cheyenne Bjork will be running her annual lemonade stand to benefit ALS research from 2pm to 4pm at 12 Kendall Street. In addition to regular lemonade and pink lemonade, cookies will be also be available for purchase. Cheyenne raised approximately $350 for the Angel Fund last year.  She hopes to surpass that total this year.

#4) Wilmington Youth Soccer will hold its 6th Annual Field Day and 3v3 Tournament from 10am to 4pm at the Shawsheen School fields. As part of Field Day, Wilmington Youth Soccer will be holding its Annual 3v3 Soccer Tournament. All athletes from Grades 1-8 are welcome; players do not have to be enrolled in Wilmington Youth Soccer to participate. Teams can include up to 6 players with a registration fee of $100 per team ($85 early bird) – which includes Field Day entry for all players and coaches. All players will receive a tournament patch. #5) The Third Annual Trouble The Dog Motorcycle Toy Ride will benefit First Responders and the children they serve.  This scenic ride, generously sponsored by Marblehead Opticians, will start and end at the Shriners Auditorium (99 Fordham Road). Registration starts at 10am. Kickstands up at 11am. Tickets are $20.00 per rider which includes coffee and donuts, courtesy of Dunkin Donuts of Marblehead, prior to the ride and full lunch at the end of the ride. There will be music, great prizes and more. Proceeds from the Motorcycle Toy Ride will help to place Trouble the Dog plush dogs and books in fire trucks, ambulances and police cruisers to help First Responders provide immediate comfort to children in the event of a fire, accident or other emergency. #8) The Middlesex Canal Museum and Visitors’ Center (71 Faulkner Street, North Billerica) is open from noon to 4pm.  Learn about the canal, which travels through Wilmington.
