POLICE LOG for August 25: 2 Dump Trucks Drive Over Butters Row; Teen Arrested

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are EIGHT highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Friday, August 25, 2017:

  • Police issued citations to two dump trucks that drove over the Butters Row despite bridge’s weight limits. Vehicles belonged to same company. (7:43am)
  • A Deming Way caller reported she received a scam phone call from someone claiming to be her grandson. Caller ID showed number as 1-555-555-5555. (9:25am)
  • A delivery driver pulled down a cable wire across from Melrose Avenue. Police (9:43am)
  • A Towpath Drive caller reported a paving company has caused a traffic issue, with trucks parked sporadically everywhere, with asphalt being spilled on the street. Police contacted company, who will come to clean up. (12:25pm)
  • A caller reported a motorcycle was doing wheelies and operating at a high rate of speed on Lowell Street. Police was unable to locate. (2:52pm)
  • A hawk that was having trouble flying was transported to Tufts Wildlife Clinic. (3:26pm)
  • A caller reported ongoing issues regarding trucks going over the Butters Row Bridge. (4:26pm)
  • Jake Tyler Stancato (19, Wilmington) was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Stancato was involved in a minor crash at Richmond Street and Main Street. (9:56pm)
