5 Things You Need To Know In Wilmington Today (August 6, 2017)

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are FIVE things you need to know in Wilmington for Sunday, August 6, 2017.

#1) According to the National Weather Service, it be sunny in Wilmington, with a high near 80. West wind 8 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.

#2) The Wilmington Farmers Market is open from 10am to 1pm on the Swain Green, across from the Town Common.  The lineup can be found HERE.

#3) The Aleppo Shriners are holding its annual Country Western Night in the Fez Room at the Shriners Auditorium (99 Fordham Road). Doors open at 4pm. The evening begins at 4:30pm. Admission costs $10. The event will include a concert from Walkin’ The Line, line dance lessons with Michelle Jackson, and music between sets with DJ Rich.

#4) During all masses on Saturday, August 5, 2017 and Sunday, August 6, 2017, the St. Thomas/St. Dorothy’s Charities Committee will be holding a Food Drive for the parish’s Food Pantry to help Parish members in need. Donations may be left at the entrances of both churches.

The food drive is particularly focusing on back-to-school non-perishable lunch box food items. Items most needed include:

  • Fruit Cups
  • Fruit Juice Boxes
  • Chocolate Milk Boxes
  • Peanut Butter Crackers
  • Cheese Crackers
  • Snack Size Chips
  • Snack Size Raisins
  • Snack Size Cookies

#5) The Middlesex Canal Museum and Visitors’ Center (71 Faulkner Street, North Billerica) is open from noon to 4pm.  Learn about the canal, which travels through Wilmington.
