WILMINGTON REC REMINDERS: Space Still Available For Day Trip To Mystic, CT

WILMINGTON, MA — Looking for a quick getaway for a day? Join the Wilmington Recreation Department on Thursday, August 10, 2017 for a “Sail Away on a Summer Day” trip to Mystic, CT.

Upon arrival, board the 81-foot schooner Argia for a narrated 2 ½ hour cruise down the historic Mystic River to Fisher’s Island Sound. From the wooden deck, you will see the Captain’s homes along the river and hear about the area that is so rich in maritime history. You could sit back and relax as you sail by the scenic coastlines, islands and lighthouses, or you might feel up to helping the crew hoist and trim the sails! After the cruise, travel to downtown Mystic where you will have free time to explore the area. Visit the one-on-a-kind shops and have lunch at one of the many restaurants in the area – the day is yours to enjoy. Be sure to make time in your travels to stop at the Sift Bake Shop for a free treat!

This trip will depart Wilmington at 6:30 a.m. and will return the same day at about 5:45 p.m. For $90.00 per person, you can take part in this unique experience. Remember, these trips are not limited to just Wilmington residents. Call up some friends and let them know!

To register, visit the Recreation Department’s website (www.wilmingtonma.gov/recreation), stop by our office in Town Hall Room 8, or call 978-658-4270.
