8 Things You Need To Know In Wilmington Today (July 19, 2017)

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are EIGHT things you need to know in Wilmington for Wednesday, July 19, 2017.

#1) According to the National Weather Service, Wilmington will see a slight chance of showers after 9am. Patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 92. Light west wind becoming southwest 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

#2) The 2017 “Sounds of Summer” Concert Series continues with Ball in the House from 6:30pm to 8pm on the Wilmington Town Common. Following in the path of classic harmony groups like The Temptations and Boyz II Men, this five member veteran vocal band will move audiences with their music. A review from the Boston Globe put it very succinctly – “Ball in the House has everything you would expect to find in a successful pop/rock band…the one thing it doesn’t have is instruments.”

#3) Are you interested in producing your own television program? Wilmington Community Television (10 Waltham Street) is hosting a “Media Meet-Up” at 7pm for residents interested in learning how to provide their own video content. Discover tips and tricks to pull off your own professional show. Attendees will also be able to trade strategies, talk over show ideas, and build relationships. #4) The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding FOUR programs today:

  • Tech Help Drop-In (2pm-3pm)
  • Succulent Planters (3pm-4pm)
  • Penguins & Popsicles (3pm-4pm)
  • Build A Better World with Greg and Axel (6:30pm-7:30pm)

#5) The Wilmington Senior Center (15 School Street) is holding its normal Wednesday activities:

  • SBF Exercise (9:45am)
  • Special Exercise (11am)
  • Country Line Dancing (1pm)

#6) The Wilmington Police Department offers safety seat installs at the Wilmington Public Safety Building (1 Adelaide Street) every Wednesday, 10am-2pm. No appointment is necessary, but calling ahead at 978-658-5071 is recommended. Learn more HERE.

#8) The Town Beach is open today.  Lifeguards are on duty from 10am to 8pm. Admission is FREE for residents. Proof of residency is required. Learn more HERE.
