10 Things You Need To Know In Wilmington Today (July 18, 2017)

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are TEN things you need to know in Wilmington for Tuesday, July 18, 2017.

#1) According to the National Weather Service, Wilmington will see a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 2pm and 3pm. Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 86. South wind 3 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

#2) The Wilmington Board of Health meets at 5:30pm at Wilmington Town Hall (Room 9). Read the agenda HERE.

#3) The Red Cross is holding a Blood Drive from 2pm to 7pm at Wilmington Masonic Lodge (32 Church Street). Drop-ins welcome.

#4) The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding FOUR programs today:

  • Painting with Acrylics Workshop (10am-noon)
  • Build A Better World Preschool Storytime: Under The Sea (10am-11am)
  • Travel Club: Thailand (3pm-4pm)
  • Family Movie: Lego Batman (6:30pm-8:30pm)

#5) The Wilmington Senior Center (15 School Street) will be holding its usual Tuesday programs:

  • 9:30am — Bocce
  • 10:30am — Aerobics
  • 12:30pm — Wii Bowling

#6) The Tewksbury/Wilmington Elks (777 South Street, Tewksbury) holds bingo — open to the public — every Tuesday at 6:45pm. Doors open at 5pm. Pizza, hot dog and pastries are sold. Free coffee.

#7) Angels In Motion meets every Tuesday, from 9:30am to 2:30pm, at the Wilmington Knights of Columbus Hall (112 Middlesex Avenue).  The club provides a great opportunity for seniors to meet new friends or reacquaint with old ones.  Spend the day playing cards, board games, or just chatting with folks!  A luncheon is served as noon.  There are NO fees. The KofC Hall is handicap accessible.

#8) Red Heat Tavern is holding its weekly bar trivia (pub quiz) with Geeks Who Drink from 7pm to 9pm. Learn more HERE.

#9) The Town Beach is open today.  Lifeguards are on duty from 10am to 8pm. Admission is FREE for residents. Proof of residency is required. Learn more HERE.
