WILMINGTON, MA — Here are EIGHT things you need to know in Wilmington for Friday, June 30, 2017.
#1) According to the National Weather Service, Wilmington has a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 90. Southwest wind 9 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
#2) The Wilmington Fun on the Fourth celebration continues today. The schedule is below:
5:00 PM – 8:00 PM Sons of Italy Jr Lodge And Wilmington Figure Skating Club, $8 (Pork Strips, Chicken Fingers, Egg Roll, Fried Rice, Drink)
5:00 PM – 9:00 PM Carnival
6:00 PM – 9:30 PM Performance by Jay Taylor Band (Country) (sponsored by Re/Max Encore)

6:00 PM 3 on 3 Basketball – Age Categories: [10 & 11 (6:00 PM)]; [12 & 13 (6:30 PM)]; [14 & 15 (7:00 PM)]
6:00 PM Horseshoes (Second Round) (Participants must sign a Consent Form. Under 18 signed by a parent.)
6:30 PM Ladies 2-mile Walk (Participants must sign a Consent Form. Under 18 signed by a parent.)
7:00 PM Hospital Bed Race / (Participants must sign a consent form. Under 18 must be signed by a parent.)
#3) The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding TWO programs today:
- Needleworkers (10am-noon)
- Family Escape Room (1pm-2pm, 2pm-3pm, 3pm-4pm)

- Special Exercise (10:00am)
- Brain Body Fitness (11:30am)
- Bingo (1:00pm)

#5) Pacific Grove (211 Lowell Street) is holding Karaoke with Winnell Entertainment at 8pm.
#6) Ristuccia Arena (190 Main Street) is holding a Family Fun Skate from 4pm to 6pm. Admission is free if enrolled in the ‘Learn to Skate’ program. Cost is $3 for general public.
#7) The Town Beach is open today. Lifeguards are on duty from 10am to 8pm. Admission is FREE for residents. Proof of residency is required. Learn more HERE.
#8) The Fourth of July Committee Building (142 Middlesex Avenue) is open from 10am to 9pm. Fun on the Fourth merchandise and meal tickets are on sale. Registration for some of the celebration’s free events is available.
