Wilmington’s Sunrise Kitchen Is Closing This Week

WILMINGTON, MA — Sunrise Kitchen, located next to the Registry of Motor Vehicles at 355 Middlesex Avenue, is closing its doors this Friday, June 30.

“We are retiring,” wrote owners Larry and Diane Cutts in an email to Wilmington Apple.  “A warm thank you to all our friends and employees over our 4 years in Wilmington.”

Sunrise Kitchen has been a family-owned and operated business since 1992. Prior to opening in Wilmington in 2013, Sunrise Kitchen (then known as “Sunrise Bagels”) operated in North Reading for more than 20 years.

The owners and employees encourage customers to stop in one last time this week to say goodbye.

It is not yet known what new business will move into the space.  A breakfast/lunch restaurant would likely face similar restrictions that Sunrise Kitchen encountered.  Due to the proximity of Dunkin’ Donuts, Sunrise Kitchen, for example, was not allowed to sell coffee as part of take-out purchases and could not advertise its bagel selection.

Wilmington Apple will monitor any developments with the space.  Congratulations and Happy Retirement to the Cutts family!
