12 Things You Need To Know In Wilmington Today (June 27, 2017)

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are TWELVE things you need to know in Wilmington for Tuesday, June 27, 2017.

#1) According to the National Weather Service, there is chance of showers and thunderstorms in Wilmington, mainly after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 78. Light southwest wind increasing to 8 to 13 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

#2) The Wilmington Bylaw Study Committee meets at 6:30pm at the Wilmington Town Hall (Small Conference Room). Read the agenda HERE.

#3) The Wilmington Finance Committee meets at 7pm at the Wilmington Town Hall (Room 9). Read the agenda HERE.

#4) The Shawsheen Tech School Committee meets at 7:30pm in the John P. Miller Room at the Shawsheen Tech. Read the agenda HERE.

#5) Reading Municipal Light Department is holding a “Shred The Peak” educational event for customers at 1pm at the Wilmington Senior Center (15 School Street). Learn more HERE.

#6) The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding THREE programs today:

  • Preschool Storytime (10am-11am)
  • Travel Club: Spain (3pm-4pm)
  • Paper Bag Project Runway (6:30pm-7:30pm)

#7) The Wilmington Senior Center (15 School Street) will be holding its usual Tuesday programs:

  • 9:00am — Walking Group
  • 10:30am — Aerobics
  • 12:30pm — Wii Bowling

#9) The Tewksbury/Wilmington Elks (777 South Street, Tewksbury) holds bingo — open to the public — every Tuesday at 6:45pm. Doors open at 5pm. Pizza, hot dog and pastries are sold. Free coffee.

#10) Angels In Motion meets every Tuesday, from 9:30am to 2:30pm, at the Wilmington Knights of Columbus Hall (112 Middlesex Avenue).  The club provides a great opportunity for seniors to meet new friends or reacquaint with old ones.  Spend the day playing cards, board games, or just chatting with folks!  A luncheon is served as noon.  There are NO fees. The KofC Hall is handicap accessible.

#11) Red Heat Tavern is holding its weekly bar trivia (pub quiz) with Geeks Who Drink from 7pm to 9pm. Learn more HERE.

#12) The Town Beach is open today.  Lifeguards are on duty from 10am to 8pm. Admission is FREE for residents. Proof of residency is required. Learn more HERE.
