WILMINGTON, MA — Here are EIGHT things you need to know in Wilmington for Sunday, June 25, 2017.
#1) According to the National Weather Service, it will be mostly sunny in Wilmington, with a high near 85. Southwest wind 6 to 10 mph.
#3) Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan is holding a Summer Safety Day from 9am to noon at the Stone Zoo (149 Pond Street, Stoneham). The event is also sponsored by the Hallmark Health System and The North Suburban Child and Family Resource Network. The Wilmington Police Department will be on hand for the fun. During the event, children can explore emergency vehicles, including fire trucks, police cruisers, and ambulances. Car seat inspections and installations will be offered. Stop by the Summer Safety Resource Booth to learn who to keep kids safe this summer. The first 50 attendees will receive a coupon for one FREE child admission with a paying adult to the Stone Zoo.
#4) Shawsheen Tech Cheerleaders are holding a Car Wash fundraiser from 9am to 2pm at Merrimack Valley Pavilion (MVP) in Tewksbury (2087 Main Street).
#5) The Middlesex Canal Museum and Visitors’ Center (71 Faulkner Street, North Billerica) is open from noon to 4pm. Learn about the canal, which travels through Wilmington.
#6) The Town Beach at Silver Lake will be open daily, with qualified lifeguards on duty from 10am to 8pm, weather permitting. Learn more HERE.
#7) The Fourth of July Committee Building (142 Middlesex Avenue) is open from 10am to 2pm. Fun on the Fourth merchandise and meal tickets are on sale. Registration for some of the celebration’s free events is available.
