WILMINGTON, MA — 8 Wilmington Dance Academy students will be performing in North Atlantic Dance Theatre’s Spring 2017 Gala on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 7pm and Sunday, June 25, 2017 at 3pm at Larcom Theater (13 Wallis Street) in Beverly.
The Academy students include Kate Busby, Sarah Busby, Catherine Connolly, Lucy Johnson, Abby Keating, Vivian Moda, Juliana Peacock and Rebecca Vanderpot.
The 8 Wilmington Dance Academy students are also in North Atlantic Dance Theatre’s apprenticeship program, which offers students who have achieved a higher degree of training and are looking to perform on a professional level to hone their craft as performance artists alongside NADT’s company members.
The performance opens with “Les Sylphides,” which tells the story of a poet and his muses, the woodland sylphs, through the music of Chopin. In contrast to this high-classical work, NADT then plunges into the contemporary world of ballet with “Rinforzare.” Bringing the performance to a close is Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons.”
