8 Things You Need To Know In Wilmington Today (June 21, 2017)

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are EIGHT things you need to know in Wilmington for Wednesday, June 21, 2017.

#1) According to the National Weather Service, Wilmington will see a slight chance of showers between 11am and 3pm, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. West wind 5 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

#2) The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding FOUR programs today:

  • 3D Modeling: Grades 1-3 (10am-noon)
  • Tech Help Drop-In (2pm-3pm)
  • Crafternoon: Make Your Own Candy (3pm-4pm)
  • Drive-In Movie (6:30pm-8pm) — SOLD OUT

#3) The Wilmington Senior Center (15 School Street) is holding its normal Wednesday activities:

  • SBF Exercise (9:45am)
  • Special Exercise (11am)
  • Country Line Dancing (1pm)
  • Fun Singers Rehearsal (3pm)
  • Gentle Yoga (3:45pm)

#4) The Wilmington Police Department offers safety seat installs at the Wilmington Public Safety Building (1 Adelaide Street) every Wednesday, 10am-2pm. No appointment is necessary, but calling ahead at 978-658-5071 is recommended. Learn more HERE.

#5) The Friends of the Wilmington Memorial Library’s Book Store Next Door (183 Middlesex Avenue) is open from 10am to 4pm. All books are $2 or less!  Every penny of every sale benefits the Wilmington Memorial Library. Learn more HERE.

#6) The Town Beach is open today.  Lifeguards are on duty from 10am to 8pm. Admission is FREE for residents. Proof of residency is required. Learn more HERE.

 

#7) The Fourth of July Committee Building (142 Middlesex Avenue) is open from 10am to 2pm.  Fun on the Fourth merchandise and meal tickets are on sale.  Registration for some of the celebration’s free events is available.

#8) Don’t forget about the Middlesex Avenue water main improvement project.  Be prepared for delays between 7am to 4pm. Learn more HERE.
