WILMINGTON, MA — Here are FIVE things you need to know in Wilmington for Friday, June 9, 2017.
#1) According to the National Weather Service, Wilmington has a chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 5pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 72. North wind around 7 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
#2) The Wilmington Senior Center (15 School Street) is holding its regular Friday

#3) The Wilmington Memorial Library has organized the third annual Town Wide Yard Sale this Saturday, June 10, 2017, from 8am to 2pm. 66 locations are participating in this year’s sale! The list and map of yard sale locations can be found below. The map is also located online HERE (where it’s a little bit larger). Paper maps are available at the library, Town Hall, and the Market Basket courtesy counter.
#4) The Wilmington Farmers Market, located on the Swain Green across from the Town Common, opens for its 6th season on Sunday, June 11 from 10am to 1pm. Join in their opening day festivities and shop for all you need for a great Father’s Day celebration. In addition to the wonderful vendors, enjoy live music from Jim Renner.
#5) From Saturday, June 10, 2017 to Sunday, August 13, 2017, the Town Beach at Silver Lake will be open daily, with qualified lifeguards on duty from 10am to 8pm, weather permitting.
