Wilmington Little League’s Latest Game Summaries

WILMINGTON, MA — Below is a recent Wilmington Little League game summary:

AA: Royals vs. Astros — Saturday, June 3, 2017

The Double-A Astros and Royals played once again, extending their epic season-long series. As always, both teams played well, producing highlights all over the field. The Royals’ Tim Watson made several great plays in the field while Kyle Tibbetts and Joey Cavanaugh played solid defense as well. Joey Fallis had a good day behind the plate catching. Luke Kitanov played another outstanding game against the Astros as he shut them out in his two innings on the mound and added a single on offense. Jacoby Tibbetts and Jake Carr had two hits each while Charlotte Forcina contributed another one. On the Astros’ side, James Passerini started the game striking out three in the first before ripping a double later in the game. Quinn Stockman singled and threw smoke in his inning pitching while Kevin Pruslin fanned three and later smacked a single to contribute on both sides of the field. John Roofe and Erin McCarthy also kept the Royals bats at bay during their pitching stints. Adding to the offense, Mikey Taylor, Justin Fricia, and McCarthy each had two hits while Connor Sullivan, Joe Fennelly, Passerini, and Roofe had one each. The team played possibly their best defensive game with great glove work, throws, and alert positioning by Chris DeFilippo, Evan Cummings, Passerini, Fricia, Fennelly, Sullivan, and Taylor among others.
