10 Things You Need To Know In Wilmington Today (June 6, 2017)

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are TEN things you need to know in Wilmington for Tuesday, June 6, 2017.

#1) According to the National Weather Service, rain is likely in Wilmington. Patchy fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 51. Northeast wind 13 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

#2a) The Wilmington Board of Health meets at 5:30pm in the Wilmington Town Hall (Room 9).  Read the agenda HERE.

#2a) The Wilmington Planning Board meets at 7:30pm in the Wilmington Town Hall (Room 9). Read the agenda HERE.

#3) The WHS Girls Tennis Team and WHS Softball Team are both competing in second-round playoff action today.  The WHS Girls Tennis team takes on Wayland High at 3:30pm in Wayland after getting rained out yesterday.  The WHS Softball Team hosts Swampscott High (a #16 seed who upset the #1 seed) at 6pm at Town Park.  Good luck to both teams!

#4) The Wilmington High School Choral and Theatre Support Group (WHS CATS) holds its monthly meeting at 7pm in the WHS Cafeteria.

#5) The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) will be holding TWO programs today:

  • Cookin’ The Books (noon-1pm)
  • Music and More (6:30pm-7:15pm)

#6) The Wilmington Senior Center (15 School Street) will be holding its usual Tuesday programs:

  • 9:00am — Zumba
  • 10:30am — Aerobics
  • 12:30pm — Wii Bowling

#8) The Tewksbury/Wilmington Elks (777 South Street, Tewksbury) holds bingo — open to the public — every Tuesday at 6:45pm. Doors open at 5pm. Pizza, hot dog and pastries are sold. Free coffee.

#9) Angels In Motion meets every Tuesday, from 9:30am to 2:30pm, at the Wilmington Knights of Columbus Hall (112 Middlesex Avenue).  The club provides a great opportunity for seniors to meet new friends or reacquaint with old ones.  Spend the day playing cards, board games, or just chatting with folks!  A luncheon is served as noon.  There are NO fees. The KofC Hall is handicap accessible.
