COLCHESTER, VT — The following Wilmington residents graduated from May 14 from Saint Michael’s College:
- Jacquelyn Marie Duffy, with a Bachelor of Arts in sociology & anthropology and Spanish
- John Henry Keating, with a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, in psychology
The Commencement speaker was General Joseph Dunford, the nation’s highest ranking military officer as chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Dunford — a 1977 Saint Michael’s graduate and Boston-area native who previously was Commandant of the Marine Corps — told the graduates that moral courage and a commitment to serving others are essential qualities for “leaders of consequences” saying, “It’s never about you.”
U.S. Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-TV, a 1961 Saint Michael’s graduate, also attended the ceremony.
