10 Things You Need To Know In Wilmington Today (May 28, 2017)

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are TEN things you need to know in Wilmington for Sunday, May 28, 2017.

#1) According to the National Weather Service, Wilmington has a slight chance of showers after 11am. Partly sunny, with a high near 71. Light south wind. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

#2) As part of the town’s Memorial Day celebration, there will be a Veterans Mass at St. Thomas at 11am, followed by a rededication of town parks, squares and monuments. Learn more HERE.

#3) Barnes & Noble is holding a book fair to benefit Wilmington-based iPods for Wounded Veterans. The book fair takes place at the Burlington Barnes & Noble (98 Middlesex Turnpike) on  Saturday, May 27 (9am-11pm); Sunday, May 28 (10am-9pm); and Monday, May 29 (9am-9pm). People can also participate online by visiting bn.com/bookfair from May 27 through June 2. Simply use Bookfair ID 12079950 at the in-store checkout or before checking out online. A percentage of in-store and online purchases will benefit iPods for Wounded Veterans. For more information about the organization, visit ipodsforwoundedveterans.org.

#4) The Automotive Personalities Experience™ (APX) is a single day automotive content creator and culture event hosted by The Hypershift Group, LLC. APX will take place at the Shriners Auditorium (99 Fordham Road) on Sunday, May 28, 2017, noon to 5pm, and is limited to 1,305 attendees.  Tickets MUST BE PURCHASE IN ADVANCE HERE. See your favorite content creators live, interact with vendors and socialize with other fans as we celebrate automotive content creators, the automotive community, and its surrounding culture. The event will feature: TJ Hunt & Calvin Cabiling, David Patterson, Evan Shanks, DoctaM3, IgnitionTube & Pawinn, Tedward, Chris Amos , Rob Ferretti, and Krispy Media, with more to be added.

#5) “Team Got Hope?”, a Wilmington Relay For Life team, will be holding a Car Wash from 9am to 2pm at the Friendship Lodge (32 Church Street).  Donations will benefit the American Cancer Society.

#6) The Middlesex Canal Museum and Visitors’ Center (71 Faulkner Street, North Billerica) is open from noon to 4pm.  Learn about the canal, which travels through Wilmington.
