WILMINGTON, MA — At its Wednesday night meeting, the Wilmington School Committee announced it will hold an important workshop on Wednesday, June 28 at 7pm in the Wilmington High School Library.
The purpose of the workshop will be for the School Committee to strategize in its search for the district’s next permanent superintendent.
According to School Committee Chair Steve Bjork, the Committee will attempt to make several important decisions that evening, including establishing a timeline on screenings, interviews, and the appointment. The Committee will also determine whether to use a professional search agency or to conduct the search on their own.
The workshop is open to the public. Residents are encouraged to attend.
The School Committee also recently decided to reappoint Interim Superintendent Paul Ruggiero for the 2017-2018 school year, pending contract negotiations. The Committee also decided to bring in retired Superintendent Dr. Joseph Connolly one-day-a-week during the next school year to serve as a consultant and mentor to Ruggiero and Assistant Superintendent Sean Galalgher.
