WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Recreation Departments presents “Off to the Races!,” an exciting 2-day/1-night getaway that begins with a stay at The Summit Lodge in Killington, VT and concludes with an afternoon at the historic Saratoga Race Course.
The trip will take place August 20-21, and the cost is $255/ppdo. Optional trip insurance is available for $25 per person.
The trip begins with motorcoach transportation from Wilmington to The Summit Lodge. After you check in, your stay starts with lunch and a Vermont Maple Cooking Demonstration. In the afternoon, you will enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding Green Mountains while you take advantage of the resort’s many amenities such as Tennis, Horseshoes, Bocce, Shuffleboard, two heated swimming pools and a poolside bar. You can relax in their Spa Facilities (indoor saltwater Jacuzzi and Sauna) or schedule a massage with their in-house massage therapists. Cap off the day with a four-course dinner and evening entertainment.
The following morning, enjoy breakfast before your drive to Saratoga Springs, NY. This historic city began as a quiet little settlement with beautiful scenery and magnificent natural springs. After a tour of the area, you will have some free time to explore the boutiques and restaurants before returning to the Saratoga Race Course for an afternoon of racing. There, you will have reserved Grandstand seats to watch the horses and jockeys compete around the 1-1/8 mile course. Place some bets or just enjoy the excitement of the day at the track!
