10 Things You Need To Know In Wilmington Today (May 4, 2017)

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are TEN things you need to know in Wilmington for Thursday, May 4, 2017.

#1) According to the National Weather Service, Wilmington will experience areas of frost before 7am. Otherwise, increasing clouds, with a high near 62. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon.

#2) Why are flags at half-staff? Governor Charlie Baker has ordered that the United States flag and the Commonwealth flag be lowered to half-staff at all state buildings from sunrise until sunset, Thursday, May 4, 2017, in honor of SSG Michael J. Mantenuto, HHC- 1st Special Forces Group – Fort Lewis, WA, of Holliston, Massachusetts.

#3) WHS Strings will hold its Vertical Concert at 7pm at Wilmington High School.

#4) The Wilmington Recreation Commission meets at 5pm in Wilmington Town Hall (Room 9). Read the agenda HERE.

#5) The Wilmington Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) meets at 6:30pm in the Wilmington High School Library. Read the agenda HERE.

#6) Rocco’s Restaurant & Bar (193 Main Street) is hosting live music with Larry Gilbert at 6pm.

#7) Red Heat Tavern (300 Lowell Street) is hosting live music with Bucket of Blues at 8pm.

#8) The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding THREE programs today:

  • LEGO Building (3:45pm-4:45pm)
  • Pints & Pages (7pm)
  • Antique “Road Show” Appraisal Night (7pm-8:30pm)
