WILMINGTON, MA — Welcome to May! As you are buzzing with spring cleaning and sprucing up your lawn, don’t forget to take a few moments and set aside some time for fun! The Wilmington Recreation Department has many exciting activities that start soon:
Tuesdays, May 2 – 23: Academy of Traditional Karate is offering introductory Karate lessons to kids aged 3 – 4 and 5 – 8. For only $37, lessons include basic Karate moves, Japanese culture and life skills. Complementary T-shirt included.
Wednesday, May 3, 4 – 5:30 p.m.: Disney Cupcake Decorating class: Have your child (in grades 1 – 5) come down and learn how to make their own buttercream frosting and learn decorating techniques involving fondant. Cost is $30.
Thursdays, May 4 – June 1, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.: For $60, Skyhawks Sports Academy is offering tennis lessons for adults. This class is perfect for both beginning and returning players who want to develop their skills in this life-long sport.
Thursdays, May 11 – 18, 6 – 8 p.m.: Paint Night is returning to the Town Hall! Under the guidance of a talented instructor, you will paint a beautiful lighthouse scene using oils on canvas. Follow the template, or use your creativity to personalize your artwork! All supplies included, cost is $52.
Friday, May, 12 6:30 – 8 p.m.: Mother’s Day Gift Floral Design Class at Given Erwin Florists. Create an arrangement using a tea cup, saucer, spray roses and orchids. This is a great opportunity to design a unique gift for that special woman in your life, or just join us for a great time and take home your centerpiece! All supplies are provided, $42 per person.
Tuesdays, May 23 – August 15 (no 7/4): Tennis Round Robin is designed to provide opponents for match play. Instruction will be provided to help improve your game, but players must be able to serve and keep score.
